Adjectives as nouns

1. When referring to people: de + adjective + e
rijk (rich) → de rijke (the rich person/man/woman/etc)
dik (fat) → de dikke (the fat person/man/woman/etc)

2. When talking about abstract: het + adjective + e
leuk (nice) → het leuke (the nice thing)
goed (good) → het goede (the good thing, the good)
kwaad (bad) → het kwade (the evil)
