in een cafe — at a cafe
op de hoek — at the corner
bij een vriend — at a friend’s
kijken naar — to look at
om 4 uur — at four o’clock

Ik moet mijn kleine zusje in de gaten houden. — I have to keep an eye on my little sister.

Een foto maken in. = Een foto nemen. — to take a picture

Nouns derived from Latin and ending in -um take -a in plural. Ending -s is also accepted, but -a is preferred.

museum → musea / museums — museum(s)
centrum → centra / centrums — centre(s)
datum → data / datums — date(s)
decennium → decennia/decenniën  — decade(s)
