The Starting Point

By the moment I already have some basic knowledge. I took a quick intensive introductory course in Dutch at a language school in June. It lasted for 2 weeks and consisted of 24 hours of classes altogether. The teacher was great, she managed to provide a very good language foundation within such a short time.

So far I know the basic grammar, I can read and pronounce most of the words I see, even if I don’t know the meaning and I have some basic vocabulary as well. Besides, I found some good on-line resources for the beginners. I’ll list them in the next post.

Hello world!

Alright, this is my ‘hello world’ post. It’s my first attempt to run a publicly-accessible blog.

The idea behind the blog is to see how much time (and efforts) it is going to take me to master Dutch language so that I can read, understand, write and speak fluently. I shall begin with that I am not a native English-speaker, so my please accept my apologies for any potential mistakes in English (as well as in Dutch). However, English and Dutch seem to have much in common, so keeping the blog in English feels like the right way to go.

I am very new to WordPress, so it’s probably going to take a while before I shape this blog up.
